SURFACE PREPARATION:

  • Ensure that the area is clean, sound, firm, free from dust and debris, and free from flaking and peeling paint and brittle materials.
  • Remove any previous product that is peeling, brittle, lifting or loose.
  • The surface must be COMPLETELY dry before applying Rubber Sealant.

SURFACE PRIMER:

  • Raw Metal: Apply 1 coat of Etch Primer Supreme as a primer before applying Rubber Sealant.
  • All other surfaces: Apply 1 coat of Bonding Liquid Super+ as a primer before applying Rubber Sealant.
For more information on our primers, see instructions on respective drums or visit our website.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Once the suitable primer has cured, apply 3 thick coats of Rubber Sealant onto all problem areas
including gaps, grooves, holes, cracks, seams, screws, joins, overlaps, ridge caps, expansion joints,
    gullies, etc.
  • Each coat of Rubber Sealant must be a MINIMUM of 1mm thick.
  • Ensure sufficient drying time between each coat (depending on the weather) wait between 45 minutes to 2 hours for Rubber Sealant to dry.
  • Now, apply 3 thick coats of Rubber Sealant over the entire surface area including parapet walls,
    skylights, etc.
  • The finished product should be a MINIMUM 3mm seamless, continuous rubber liner coat and 6mm on the problem areas.
  • Rubber Sealant cures within 48 hours.

NOTE:

  • Cement structures absorb and retain water, therefore ensure areas where Rubber Sealant will be applied are completely dry.
  • Newly built cement structures take 21 – 28 days to cure completely.
  • DO NOT apply Rubber Sealant onto newly built cement structures before 28 days.
  • The spread rate of Rubber Sealant can vary depending on the surface, application and tools used.
  • 1L covers up to 6m² on a single coat application, measured on a smooth surface with no roughness, lumps or holes.
  • DO NOT apply Rubber Sealant on cement structures immediately after rain, or early in the morning.
  • Ensure that the sun dries out the surface completely before Rubber Sealant is applied.

IMPORTANT:

Rubber Sealant is black in colour and UV stable, however it is 100% paintable with any quality paint once dry and cured. Rubber Sealant is made for most types of surfaces and bonds to most structures and materials. MIX WELL BEFORE USE. DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER PRODUCTS. OPEN AND APPLY.
